ID Scotia enhances it's education with Borders College

June 2012

ID Scotia have won the maintenance contract for planned preventative and reactive maintenance for air conditioning and ventilation works at Borders College.

Borders College is one of Scotland’s most successful colleges and offers students of our wide range of full-time and part-time courses. The College is split between a number of campuses, including a modern Scottish Borders Campus, based at Netherdale in Galashiels, a new Learning Campus in Hawick and the recently enhanced Newtown St Boswells Campus.

Borders College has been the beneficiary of a multi-million pound, ground-breaking project within the Scottish Higher Educational system. The Scottish Borders Campus provides a unique learning and teaching environment featuring bespoke practical training areas, a modern, well stocked library and learning resource centre, enhanced IT facilities and bright, spacious student social areas.

The partnerships with Borders College enhances ID Scotia's offering within the educational sector. The Scottish Borders Campus also hosts Heriot-Watt University’s world renowned School of Textiles and Design and the Borders Business Programme, the result of a unique partnership between the College and the University in creating a centre for educational excellence within the Scottish Borders region.

ID Scotia plays a crucial role between both the College and the University as we provide full reactive and preventative maintenance to Heriot-Watt, giving students and staff a comfortable and pleasant environment in which to further enhance their skills.

ID Scotia's highly technical HVAC engineers ensure that the College's HVAC systems are running at their most efficient, ensuring that the Universities and College reduces their energy consumption as unmaintained systems can use over 50% more energy than an ID Scotia maintained system.

As part of our works within the University sectors ID Scotia provides full service maintenance to all buildings at Edinburgh University and Napier University in addition to Heriot Watt.
